Cape Le Grande National Park

When I did my last post about Esperance I said that Cape Le Grande was for another day so better late than never!  This is a quick one really.  And it’s a no-brainer really, a must-do.  Cape Le Grande National Park is pristine and stunning and this is the beach where they take photos of kangaroos just hanging out on the beach.  Unfortunately for us, there were none the day we visited.  We, like everybody else just drove up the whitest sand beach you’ve ever seen and climbed the lookout and just stood there staring in wonder!!

Then we drove around the headland and had the day fishing on the beach at Cape Le Grande beach and from here you can drive all the way back on the hard sand to Esperance.  Not many fish caught but who would care.  The weather was unbelievably warm and although the Southern Ocean was freezing, it looked so clear and clean that we just had to jump in for a swim albeit THE COLDEST WATER ever!!!  But didn’t take long to go numb so all good!!!

And on the drive back we stopped to throw the bait in the water and came across a pod of dolphins just having a quiet surf.  Nice way to finish off a day!!

So put this place on your bucket list, just an amazing part of the world and so clean and pristine.
