Oh What a Year!!

Well as we kiss goodbye to another year and struggle to stay awake for another new years eve my thoughts are very reflective of the journey we have had and the speed at which this year has flown! We left Bribie in July and now in December we have started a new and different chapter of our life in Perth.

We had a quick stopover to see the family and besties in Townsville and then it was off. The morning we drove out of Townsville I was overcome with emotion and had a little cry, not because I was sad but because we were finally on the trip that had taken so long to plan and think and dream about. Because I was scared of heading out into the unknown, by ourselves theoretically, and then the anticipation of ending up a long long way from what we knew and the people who love us and support us. It was also an amazing feeling of excitement.

And some of the most beautiful places in this country.  I feel in love with the colours of the Kimberley. And one of the highlights was the horizontal falls and the buccaneer archipelago.

Western Australia is an amazing, huge and beautiful state and we haven’t even been south of Perth yet.
We have moved into an apartment and are slowly but surely adapting to city living. We love being so central and being able to walk everywhere is so cool. We love being so close to Kings Park and we’re embracing our new fitness regime that includes the park and beautiful views of the Swan river and the city as a reward after a vigorous walk to get there. I don’t make new year’s resolutions but we are serious about getting fitter and leaner and healthier and that’s a good thing.

We are looking forward to the year ahead and are positive and excited about the opportunities that this new city will bring and all the adventures that we are still to have.

And the fact that this city is a foodies paradise with an amazing amount of produce and fantastic restaurants is adding to the enjoyment for me and has me once again scouring recipes to cook and piling up the cookbooks beside the bed!!

Wishing all the very best to everybody for a fantastic 2015.  Bring it on!!!

xxxx
